Al Ahly’s goal keeper Ahmed ADEL will join the Egyptian National Team due to the absence of Zamalek’s injured keeper Abdel Wahed .
Hassan Shehata has recalled Ahmed Adel to replace Zamalek’s injured goalkeeper Abdel Wahed ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Bafana Bafana in Cairo on 5 June 2011.
Ahmed Adel is yet to join the training camp alongside his teammate and Captain Ahmed Hassan when they arrive Cairo today after playing a friendly with Kuwaiti Al Salmiyah on Friday.
Also Hassan Shehata announced on Friday that he will recall goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary (El-Merreikh/Sudan), Mohamed Zidan (Borussia Dortmund/Germany), Ahmed Ali (Al-Hilal/KSA) and Ahmed Elmohamady (Sunderland/ENG) to take part in the crucial challenge against South Africa.
Egypt is at the bottom of the Group G table with a single point behind South Africa (seven), Niger (six) and Sierra Leone (two) at the halfway stage.
