Hull City have been promoted to the Premier League following a 2-2 withCardiff City at the KC Stadium.
The Tigers were second coming into thefinalday, just apoint ahead of third-placed Watford, and knew they needed to match or better the Hornets’ result against Leeds United to secure top-flight football.

Watfordlost2-1 to Leeds, while Hull’s point came courtesy of goals from Nick Proschwitz and Paul McShane.
It was far from a straight-forward finish, though, with the Tigers being awarded a penalty when they wereleading 2-1 going into injury time. Proschwitz missed the spot-kick and then the Bluebirds got a penalty of their own at the death, which Nicky Maynard converted to leave all eyes and ears fixed on the action at Vicarage Road, where the score was 1-1 before Ross McCormack scored a late Leedswinner.

Hulllost theirtop-flight statusin 2010 and have finished 11th and eighth in the last two Championship campaigns. The appointment of Steve Bruce as manager at the start of this season proved to be a wise choice, though, and he has guided them to afirst ever automatic promotion to thePremier League, where they will join their final day opponents Cardiff.
