After his stellar performance with Belgian team Lierse, Egyptian winger Karim Hafez has officially joined AEK Athens for one season on loan, the Greek club announced on Sunday.
Despite Lierse’s relegation to the second division, the 19-year-old defender Hafez exhibited great skill with the Belgian side last season, which attracted the attention of AEK Athens management.
Lierse is owned by Egyptian businessman Magued Sami and had many Egyptian players in their squad.
The Greek side AEK Athens has an option in the player’s contract to become permanent at the end of the season.
