Cote d’Ivoire and Manchester City midfielder, Yaya Toure, has became the first player to win the African Player of the Year award for the fourth time in a row.
The 31-year-old beat Gabon’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nigeria’s Vincent Eneyeama to join Cameroon legend and Everton striker Samuel Eto’o as the only two players who won the prestigious award for 4 times.
Toure received the African Ballon d’Or in Lagos on Thursday night during the GLO ceremony before he will be joining Cote d’Ivoire ahead of the upcoming 2015 Africa Cup Of Nations finals in Equatorial Guinea starting January 17th.
