A.S. Roma: Not signing Salah was a HUGE mistake

Roma sporting director admits not signing Chelsea’s Mohamed Salah was HUGE mistake.

ROMA sporting director Walter Sabatini has admitted they made a huge mistake in not signing Chelsea outcast Mohamed Salah.

The Giallorossi were linked with a loan move for the winger in January before being pipped by domestic rivals Fiorentina.

Salah joined La Viola until the end of the season with a view to making the deal permanent after Juan Cuadrado went the other way to Stamford Bridge.

And Salah has already hit the ground running at his new club, helping eliminate Roma from the Europa League in the process.

Mohamed Salah Against AS ROMA:

Sabatini told Sport Mediaset: “I made a mistake in January, the team needed reinforcements in attack.

“I have made choices that immediately have not been successful and the team has suffered.

“I’ll have to take account of my mistakes. Salah? It’s a regret, another mistake I made.”

Salah has scored six goals in his first 10 appearances at Fiorentina, booking them a place in the Europa League quarter-finals.
